JOURNAL 2 (week 2)

I was in rushing to the class today as usual I think, the main reason because I am late for ten minutes and the first thing that strike me was “gone I am not going to get my seat in the front row” because I know that actually everyone wants to seat at the front row. I was quite happy today because I know miss Yoe Pei Li is going to make the class as fun as possible.

Besides, I was quite confused with this journal writing assignment because I was not so sure on what to write actually. So, before our lecturer starts her lecture for today, she clarifies us with the doubts. In addition, I really thank to my course mate, Jeevitha also known as Jeevi for her willingness to share her first week’s journal to the whole class. Then, later on I got the idea on how to write my own self reflective journal. Thank you so much Jeevi.

After the questioning and answering session for this journal writing, miss Yeo Pei Li continues with her lecture. Today’s lecture was more to career planning. First, I was shocked when our lecturer said that there is a quiz today morning and everyone was like “aaahhhh” but it’s actually not a strict quiz. The quiz was more to answering the fill in the blanks, so I was quite satisfied with it and release my tension at the moment in self.

Moreover, I did a few activities to know more about myself which actually relates with the typical careers. The next activity is to explore the job market. There was a few workshops and I was in the “WORKSHOP S” and our group members decide to take “S4” where majority of us in. This means that we are more to the psychology site and I was really excited because at least from this little hint or point, I can know that I am in the right track for my future career. Besides, I think this type of activities can actually encourage me and give the spirit in me to boost out where I am confident on myself right now that I can achieve anything I want I put some effort and start working on it.

Finally, I really enjoy today’s class in between I got a few new Chinese friends from first semester. They are awesome where we really work out together for the group activity and had a lot fun. Besides, I learned many new things especially for my right career. I hope that next week’s lecture also will as fun as today’s lecture.

JOURNAL 1 (week 1)

Back to college” that was my first quote for today. I was so excited when the college starts but was lazy to go to the 8 o’ clock class which was PSY110 class. Today was my first day of my second semester and I was quite proud of it because I am going to meet with the juniors. The bad thing is I was late for the class and was quite tension because I don’t know how the lecturer will react. At last I reach to college around 8.10 a.m. I was pretty shock when I first glanced in the class because there were a lot of students. I thought the class will be boring between I was quite sleepy too but once the lecture starts to give her intro, I was awaken a bit because the way send the message was interesting. My lecture’s name is miss Yeo Pei Li.

Besides, our lecturer actually understands us quite well. The best part was when she gives some exercise to make us active and not sleepy in the class. Then, she begins with and ice breaking session where we were asked to know each other especially with the August’08 intake students. I like the intro session because miss Pei Li asked to intro our selves by adding one positive adjective in front of our names. The session was quite funny and enjoying though.

Furthermore, the advice that miss Pei Li gave has a real impact on me. Especially at one part she make me to think about how important is career in our life. The advice that our lecturer gave make me to realize the importance of making the right decision in choosing our career. Besides, she also said that we must start working towards the goal from now onwards. That was the time I was really clear with my choice. Now I know that I am in the right course even I was confused at first though.

In addition, the point that opened my eyes was a test called “Vienna Test”. Even though I know about this test since last semester but I didn’t take the initiative to explore about this test. After miss Yeo Pei Li explains about this test and about the bonus marks that I can gain by doing this test really strike my mind. Consequently, I was actually more attracted about the career report that I will get after completing the whole Vienna test session. Then I realize that this is one of my great opportunities to know more about my general interest, personality and basic intelligence.

Moreover, I was so excited when I heard that I can gain some additional bonus mark for this subject. I thought to myself that this marks will really help me to get better grade in my examination. Although the procedures to do all this activities quite completing but I learned that this activities could be a great experience for me which can help to motivate myself and encourage me to do something which is beneficial in future.

Last but not least, the best thing I learned in today’s class was about how important career planning while we are still studying so that it will be easier for our future. Career interest is very important to form ourselves and again this actually depends on each individual.
